Wuthering Waves 3.5 Update
Version 3.5 — Blade of Past Resounds, Lingering Dream Hymns — goes live July 10, 2026. It's a landmark patch: Rover returns to Huanglong through the new Mengzhou region, the game's first-ever SP character (Yangyang: Xuanling) debuts, the Electro Rover arrives, and Wuthering Waves lands on Xbox & Game Pass. Here's everything confirmed from the June 26 Preview Special Broadcast.
New Region: Mengzhou
Version 3.5 opens Mengzhou, home to the city of Xuanfang Hold — the second major Huanglong city after Jinzhou. It marks a tonal homecoming after several patches set in distant regions like Rinascita and Lahai-Roi, blending ancient Chinese architecture with cutting-edge mechanisms. Mengzhou is planned as a multi-version arc spanning 3.5 through 3.7, so this is the start of a much larger chapter.
Exploration introduces a new Mingshen system and the Danjin Exploration Quest, plus controllable Autopuppet machines you pilot in top-down minigames to grapple, move obstacles, and trigger mechanisms. The fan-favourite Expedition Motorbike returns with dedicated tracks, and you keep a free bike chassis as a story reward. New enemies (the Fog Lionarch and Kernel Puppets), two new bosses, new Echoes, and three new Sonata Effects arrive alongside the region.
Yangyang: Xuanling — First-Ever SP Character
Yangyang: Xuanling (widely called "Yangyang SP") is the single biggest headline of 3.5. She's the first-ever SP character in Wuthering Waves — an alternate 5-star version of an existing character, in this case the original 4-star starter Yangyang, completely reworked.
- Element & weapon: Havoc, Sword (switched from her original Aero element)
- Role: Heavy-attack main DPS built around the Havoc Bane mechanic
- Playstyle: Switches between two sword stances — one fast, one graceful — that reshape her moveset and enhanced attacks
- Signature weapon: Azure Oath (5-star Sword), debuting in Phase 1
- Nice touch: the game icon changes to her SP form for the whole of Version 3.5
She headlines Phase 1 from July 10. If you lack an on-field Havoc main DPS — or you're simply a fan of the mascot finally getting her moment — she's the pick of the patch.
Suisui & the Electro Rover
Suisui is Yangyang's older sister and shares the bird-and-feather theme. She debuts in Phase 2 as a 5-star Glacio Rectifier — an HP-scaling healer and support built around negative-status application and team-wide sustain. Her kit centres on a "Ceaseless Landscape" domain that raises the max stack limits of elemental negative statuses on enemies and grants buffs scaling with her Energy Recharge.
Version 3.5 also adds the Electro Rover — a brand-new elemental form for the Rover, playable during and after the Main Quest. It functions as a support / sub-DPS that inflicts multiple negative statuses while boosting team performance, joining the existing Spectro, Havoc, and Aero Rover forms.
Xbox & Game Pass Launch
For the first time, Wuthering Waves expands beyond PC and mobile. On July 10, 2026, the game launches on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Xbox Game Pass, with a new presence on the Microsoft Store and full cross-save support. This is a significant reach expansion for the game and a strong onboarding moment for new players — worth noting if you're planning to introduce friends to Wuthering Waves this patch.
3.5 Banner Schedule
| Phase | Featured 5-Star | Reruns |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 (Jul 10) | Yangyang: Xuanling (Havoc Sword) + Azure Oath | Luuk Herssen, Lynae |
| Phase 2 | Suisui (Glacio Rectifier) | Aemeath (first rerun) |
| Starpath Reverb | Choose one 1.x Huanglong unit | Jinhsi · Jiyan · Yinlin · Xiangli Yao · Zhezhi · Changli |
The Starpath Reverb banner is a special rerun featuring six 1.x Huanglong characters with a free 10-pull and its own separate pity, so it won't drain your Astrite budget for Xuanling or Suisui. Their 1.x signature weapons also feature for a limited time.
Codes & Pull Planning
The 3.5 livestream (June 26) dropped three codes — MECHANISMCITY, INTOTHEFOG, and REUNION, worth 300 Astrites total — but they expired June 28. If you missed them, don't worry: Kuro reliably drops a fresh batch of launch-day codes (~300 more Astrites) when each version goes live, so a new set is expected around July 10. We track these on our codes page and update within hours of release.
Planning your pulls: the Cyberpunk collab banners in 3.4 use a separate currency with independent pity, so don't factor those pulls into your 3.5 planning. Save daily-mission Astrite now, decide between Xuanling (Phase 1) and Suisui (Phase 2), and remember the Starpath Reverb free 10-pull is effectively free value on top.
