Wuthering Waves Maintenance Times
Every major Wuthering Waves update begins with a maintenance window, and every time it happens the same question goes around: when can I play again? This page answers that permanently — a live countdown to the next maintenance in your local time, how long downtime usually runs, and what compensation to expect. It updates itself every patch cycle, so it's always current.
Maintenance Time by Region
Wuthering Waves runs on a single global server, so maintenance takes every region offline at the same moment. Below is the next maintenance window converted to major local timezones.
| Region | Maintenance Starts | Expected Back |
|---|---|---|
| Pacific Time (US West) | Wed, Aug 19 · 01:00 PM | Wed, Aug 19 · 08:00 PM |
| Eastern Time (US East) | Wed, Aug 19 · 04:00 PM | Wed, Aug 19 · 11:00 PM |
| GMT / London | Wed, Aug 19 · 09:00 PM | Thu, Aug 20 · 04:00 AM |
| Singapore / SEA | Thu, Aug 20 · 04:00 AM | Thu, Aug 20 · 11:00 AM |
| Australia East | Thu, Aug 20 · 06:00 AM | Thu, Aug 20 · 01:00 PM |
Times convert from 04:00 UTC+8 (server time) and assume the standard 7-hour window. Your browser's timezone is used for the countdown above.
How Long Does Maintenance Last?
The short answer: plan for about 7 hours, and be pleasantly surprised if it's shorter. Kuro Games has held to a consistent pattern since Version 3.0.
| Update Type | Typical Window | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Major version (x.0, x.1 …) | ~7 hours | 04:00 → ~11:00 UTC+8. The standard case. |
| Mid-version (x.x.5) | 2–3 hours | Smaller content drops, shorter downtime. |
| Emergency / hotfix | 30–90 minutes | Announced 30–60 min ahead on Kuro's socials. |
Maintenance finishing early is common — Version 3.4 wrapped in roughly 4 hours against a 7-hour estimate. Servers occasionally come back in stages, so if you can't connect the moment the window closes, give it another few minutes.
The Patch Cadence — Why Every ~6 Weeks
Wuthering Waves follows a roughly six-week (42-day) major version cycle, with each version split into two banner phases. That cadence is what makes the next maintenance date predictable even before Kuro confirms it: take the last release, add about six weeks, and you're usually within a day or two.
The cycle does flex. Version 3.4 ran short at about 32 days because it followed a collaboration patch, which pulled 3.5 earlier than a strict six-week count would suggest. Collaborations, anniversaries, and regional events all shift the calendar slightly. Kuro confirms the exact date at the Preview Special Broadcast livestream, which airs roughly one to two weeks before launch and also drops three redemption codes worth around 300 Astrites.
When a date is officially confirmed, the countdown above is labelled Confirmed. Until then it shows Estimated and runs on the six-week projection.
Maintenance Compensation
Kuro Games has awarded compensation for every major version maintenance since Version 3.0, and the amount has been remarkably stable:
Compensation is sent automatically once servers return — you don't need to do anything except open your mailbox. If a maintenance window overruns significantly or an unscheduled outage occurs, Kuro has historically added extra Astrites on top.
Separately, the livestream ahead of each patch drops three limited-time codes worth roughly 300 more Astrites. Those expire within about 48 hours, so they're worth catching live — we track them on the codes page.
Can't Log In When Servers Are Up?
If the status above reads All Servers Operational but you still can't get in, the problem is almost certainly local rather than on Kuro's side. Work through these in order:
- Check for a client update. The launcher blocks login on an outdated build — this is the single most common cause right after a patch.
- Restart the launcher completely, rather than just retrying the login button.
- Test a different network. Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data quickly isolates whether it's your connection or your ISP's routing.
- Confirm your account region. Logging into the wrong regional server is a frequent and easily-missed cause.
- Restart your router if the above doesn't help — stale DNS entries can persist after a patch.
If none of that works and other players are reporting the same thing, an unannounced issue may be in progress. Kuro posts emergency maintenance notices to their official social channels first.
